I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai

I love reading books about women who have impacted the world. I Am Malala tells the remarkable true story of Malala Yousafzai, who, at the age of 15, was shot by the Taliban for speaking out in support of girls’ education in her home country of Pakistan, and survived.

Co-written by Yousafzai and Christina Lamb, this book balances the history of Pakistan, the Taliban and it’s role in Pakistan and the middle east, and the passion of a young girl who loves her hometown and wants the best for it and the people who live there.

Malala Yousafzai has gone on to be the youngest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for her advocacy for education.

This was a powerful story which has left an impact on my heart and mind. Thank you, Malala.
